Dilworth is a historic Charlotte neighborhood located immediately south of Uptown, generally regarded as the area between South Boulevard, Morehead Street, Kenilworth Avenue and Sedgefield Park. Because it lies inside the City of Charlotte, zoning and development are governed by the Charlotte Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), in effect since June 1, 2023. Its commercial space is mostly small-format: East Boulevard, the main thoroughfare, is lined with restaurants, offices and shops, many of them in renovated homes. The neighborhood's largest institution is Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center on Blythe Boulevard, which Wikipedia describes as Charlotte's largest hospital.

East Boulevard runs through the middle of Dilworth, with South Boulevard, Morehead Street and Kenilworth Avenue along its edges. EDENS's site plan for Kenilworth Commons lists 17,000 cars per day on East Boulevard and 11,000 on Kenilworth Avenue; the plan does not give a count year. CATS bus routes 19 and 25 run through Dilworth, routes 6 and 18 serve its eastern edge, and routes 10 and 16 serve its western edge. The nearest LYNX Blue Line stop is East/West Blvd station at 1821 Camden Road in South End, a short walk from central Dilworth.

Dilworth's economy rests on two very different anchors. Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center at 1000 Blythe Blvd is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health and a Level I trauma center.
